Sumeria was pleased with the solitude at for the moment she had more time to sort out her headspace and what had happened earlier that day. She had nearly fallen into the mouth of hell, she had seen that terrible place, and she had fought and defeated a creature of darkness from the abyss. She shuddered at what memories she had, but was glad to discover that she couldnt recall all the details to remember such horrors would be insufferable. But, thank the Gods, it had gone so fast.
Though thinking about it now, it did make her feel stronger. She HAD seen all that terror, but she had also defeated it as well. That beast she slew was pretty damn big, and surprise had been a main factor of her bruising and few wounds. That she had defeated it gave her hope that such an enormous adversary as Hell and the First Evil could be overcome. It would take a lot of work, but it might happen IF every amazon is prepared for it. Sumeria must share all the information she found, and tell the absolute truth. Sumeria herself was now prepared for it herself, and was no longer afraid of going back there, just the memories of her first time made her shake.
The wheels in Sumerias head began to turn as she began to plot and consider.
Akantha noticed she was awake and immediately came to her side, offering her assistance and told her to lie back down, as shed been shaken up and bruised during whatever she went through. Akantha picked up a jar Sumeria recognised as the awesome anti-bruising ointment Rhiannon made and gently spread it upon Sumerias forehead. The Queen thanked her quietly.
The Queen of the Amazons looked over to the bed-side table and reached for the cup of water, and put her hand on something different. A scroll with her mothers seal!
S: Whats this?
A: Oh! That! This message came this morning. It was written in cursive Egyptian, we didnt know exactly what to make of it, so we kept it aside so you could translate it for us in case it was something official.
S: Its a letter from my mother.
A: Ah, very well then, never mind.
Sumeria broke the seal with her fingernail and opened up the scroll, taking the cup of water in the other hand to drink. The lengthy letter was written in Hieratic, and dated two weeks beforehand.
High Priestess Meritari of Philae to Queen Sumeria Leona of the Shatomlic Amazons of Hyrcania.
My child Sumeria,
Now more than ever to do I beseech you to come home to Philae. It is of utmost importance to you, and to my own state of mind, that you leave Hyrcania at once. Please do not consider me some frightened, stupid, superstitious vain old woman, you know that I am not such a person. You know I would not ask this of you with such fervor on a whim, without a good reason. I have a powerful reason.
The Goddess Isis blessed me with a vision today to warn me of what was to come. Dreadful things. I saw lands consumed by shadow and flame, wildlife and humans alike burning to death at the will of evil. Life faltering, people murdered, ankh snuffed out in the blink of an eye. And hideous beasts - if only I could describe them! roaming the earth doing what the will to all that civilization has built. The Day of Judgement is at hand.
And it will rise in your lands.
You will be among the first to behold it in its terror. You will battle it, and it will release its deadly fumes and monsters out days afterwards. You will be hurt and frightened - my heart cried out at seeing you suffer. Now that it comes down to it, I cannot bear to lose yet another of my family. You are so much like your father, just as we are very similar you and I, whether you admit it or no. You ARE still my daughter, and I would have you come home. Please please please please please I beg you, deliver yourself from the torment I have seen you feel.
It has been revealed to me that the youngest of our line will perish within a month. We both know who that is, you would be a simpleton indeed if you cannot behold your own identity. Isis gave me the honour of this vision for a purpose, it must have been to warn you of the great peril you stand in.
The blood of Ramses the Great, and the blood of Queen Semiramis seems to run strong in our family, even after so very long since their own existance on this earth I see your anscestors are with you. You have such remarkable beauty, such a clever mind, the strength of the khamsin , the courage and the bravery of Lysander, and the silly bravado and pride of the Lioness that is you. I have great faith in your skills, I have no choice not to, and if I havent said it before know that I am proud of you regardless of our differences, but that is not enough to quell my fears for you. Doubt fills me as I write this I know its unlikely youll come back, no matter how hard I try to persuade you.
All I can say is that I love you, Sumeria. With all my heart. You are my child, whether you denounced me as a mother or not. I have forgiven the past. I desire peace between us. I want back those days when I still had a daughter. I love you. Please please please come back before its too late. Listen to whatever your heart tells you to do.
Hoping for your return,
Meritari.
Sumeria put the scroll down.
S: She was only a few hours late
At first she was slightly irked by this blunt prediction of her death, but then all of a sudden she was brimming with confidence and happiness. Meritari wanted peace! She actually loved Sumeria! She WAS her mother still! Meritari had faith in her daughter. She was proud of her daughter, regardless of the differences of their paths! She was concerned for her. She loved her. She forgave her. She opened her doors to her, and Sumeria was free to go home to the arms of her mother, after being forbidden and estranged for so long.
But then, there was Sumerias tribe. Her friends, her family, her sisters. Such happiness here she could not create anywhere else. Her mind was made up instantly. No, her duty remained first and formost with the Shatomlics. She would do more good helping to destroy the Apocalypse at hand instead of running home like a coward to her mummy. It would disgrace the name of Semiramis to leave now just when it was getting hard. Sumeria squared her jaw, rolled up the scroll, and put it back on the desk.
S: *whispered* Sorry mother, thats something I cant do, even if it means my demise. Pray for me and my sisters, and our victory.
A: Did you say something?
S: *innocently* Nope. *thinks* Is there a messenger outside?
A: Yes. *opens door and messenger comes in*
S: Send word to the blacksmiths please. Double the weapons commission, and make armor. As soon as possible. We need it in a matter of days.
A: *when messenger is gone* A matter of days??
S: *nods* Things are on the move. Will I be strong enough to move any time soon?
A: You seem quite recovered from your shock. Just let me rebandage this
S: Good, I need to talk with everyone in the tribe and Im really hungry.
The door opened suddenly and in walked <<< Somebody enter! Rhiannon? >>>
